PLANET CS-6306R on kuusipaikkainen kytkinrunko, joka toimii laajennettavana alustana erikseen asennettaville hallinta- ja kytkinmoduuleille. Rungossa itsessään ei ole kytkinominaisuuksia, vaan laitteen toiminnallisuus määräytyytäysin siihen asennettavien moduulien mukaan.

CS-6303R tukee jopa kahta hallintamoduulia ja neljää kytkinmoduulia. Moduulipaikat ovat joustavasti määriteltävissä, ja esimerkiksi yksi hallintamoduuli voi toimia yhdessä neljän kytkinmoduulin kanssa, tai kaksi hallintamoduulia voidaan asentaa rinnakkain. Hallinta onnistuu muun muassa web-käyttöliittymän, Telnetin, konsoliportin ja SNMP:n kautta.

Kytkinrunko voidaan varustaa jopa kolmella AC- ja DC- virtalähteillä, mikä takaa laitteen toiminnan keskeytyksettä myös virtalähteen vikatilanteissa.

Muunneltava rakenne ja hot-swap-tuki tekevät CS-6306R:stä erinomaisen ratkaisun monipuolisiin ja laajennettaviin verkkoympäristöihin.
