PLANET CS-6303R on kolmipaikkainen kytkinrunko, joka toimii laajennettavana alustana erikseen asennettaville hallinta- ja kytkinmoduuleille. Rungossa itsessään ei ole kytkinominaisuuksia, vaan laitteen toiminnallisuus määräytyytäysin siihen asennettavien moduulien mukaan.

CS-6303R tukee jopa kahta hallintamoduulia ja kahta kytkinmoduulia. Paikat 2 ja 3 on tarkoitettu hallintamoduuleille, kun taas paikat 1 ja 2 tukevat kytkinmoduuleja – mahdollistaen joustavan kokoonpanon esimerkiksi yhdellä hallintamoduulilla ja kahdella kytkinmoduulilla tai kahdella hallintamoduulilla. Hallinta onnistuu muun muassa web-käyttöliittymän, Telnetin, konsoliportin ja SNMP:n kautta. Kytkinrunko voidaan varustaa jopa kolmella AC- ja DC- virtalähteillä, mikä takaa laitteen toiminnan keskeytyksettä myös virtalähteen vikatilanteissa.

Muunneltava rakenne ja hot-swap-tuki tekevät CS-6303R:stä erinomaisen ratkaisun monipuolisiin ja laajennettaviin verkkoympäristöihin.
